Obama Dallas is a grassroots group of individuals in the Dallas and North Texas area who support Barack Obama in his candidacy. We are one of hundreds of local groups of Obama supporters across the nation registered on BarackObama.com. As a grassroots group we function as individuals working together for a common cause. We are not incorporated and are not legally part of Obama for America. We make our own decisions about what to do, but must comply with legal guidelines on finance and fundraising.
Obama Dallas formed in January 2007 prior to Barack Obama's official declaration of his candidacy. We are all volunteers. No one receives any compensation for their work. Each of us is an individual ambassador for Barack Obama. We work together as a team in keeping with Senator Obama's vision of change originating with the people.

Goals and Objectives
Since our inception, Obama Dallas has been dedicated to helping elect Barack Obama the next President of the United States and to building local communities that will work for change for years to come.
Our goals are:
- Help Barack Obama win Dallas County in the 2008 in the general election on November 4, 2008. (We will primarily emphasize the City of Dallas)
- Register voters
· Canvass voters to identify Obama supporters.
· Build support through increased visibility and community service.
· Get out the vote. - Assist Obama supporters across Texas and the nation in whatever way we can.
- Remain active to help President Obama implement the changes he proposes after he is elected.
