This presentation is designed to acquaint you with the ObamaDallas grassroots organization and help you find your role in the campaign. You can join the field team, become a general volunteer, enroll for a specific task or join the voter registration team. You can join one team or more than one. We encourage you to pick what you love doing. No task is too small (or too large!) and all are a necessary part in the operation of the campaign. Field team – Laura Sutherland will help you locate your house district leader. Field teams are organized by house districts (legislative districts) with 30 to 50 precincts in each house district. Every precinct has a team of leaders to canvass neighborhoods, make phone calls, register voters, and help get out the vote during early voting and on November 4, 2008. Volunteers – Marvy Washington can help you select your area of interest – you can become a general volunteer, request a specific task like data entry or helping with events, or you help at the front office at headquarters Voter registration – Jeriva Traylor will present information about registering new voters. Deputizing – Wendy Drucker will deputize you to register voters in your own neighborhood. She will provide information and answer questions and you will be included in a database of deputized registrars who help with voter registration events.
